Tecnocap acquires the metal closures business of the Ardagh Impress Group
The Italian leading manufacturer of metal closures gets stronger.
From Salerno it does shopping abroad. An Italian company has acquired the Italian branch of a foreign multinational. This happened in Cava de’ Tirreni, province of Salerno, where Tecnocap, global leader in the production of metal closures, has its main headquarter.
This company has acquired the entire branch of metal closures – caps for glass jars and plastic containers – of the multinational Ardagh Impress, leader in the production of metal and glass products like cans, containers, bottles etc.
The acquisition was monitored by the legal office Sherman&Sterling.
Basically, the Italian company has acquired the business of the multinational Ardagh Impress, which had concentrated its production of caps for jars of the food market in Campegine, Emilia Romagna, Northern Italy. Now everything has passed to Tecnocap. Consequently, Tecnocap production has grown both in Italy and abroad.
“This last acquisition is the proof that Tecnocap is one of the most important organizations in the world in the production of metal closures for the food and beverage industries” according to Michelangelo Morlicchio, founder and CEO of the group. “ The acquisition represents an important chapter for a development plan which aims at opening new plants in the Far East and in South America and foresees additional actions aimed at the integration and rationalization of the manufacturing networks. We are convinced that in order to compete on the global market, it is necessary for us to have an efficient, rational, and advanced organization, and we need to be able to accommodate our clients’ needs, guaranteeing high-quality products”.
Tecnocap, company born and based in Salerno, in less than 20 years has become the third leading manufacturer of metal closures. Nowadays it is the leader in the production of closures for the pharma, nutraceutical and cosmetic industries in the USA, where it is present since 2006, after the acquisition of the already market leader Penn Wheeling Closure.
NUMBERS: 4 billion caps produced with a turnover of 130 million euros (in 2014). The production is divided amongst 6 different facilities – in Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Czech Republic and 2 in the USA – and with more than 600 employees.
